Wireless HART gateways
ProSoft Technology’s new ProLinx 6000 Wireless HART Gateways use a digital HART to wireless interface to bring high-speed connectivity to HART field devices and enable the sharing of data between these devices “over-the-air.” The WA-HART Gateway utilizes the proprietary ProSoft Wireless Protocol (PWP), which allows different industrial networks and protocols to share process and status data with a secure wireless connection. The protocol driver is capable of supporting the HART protocol as a Master on up to 8 channels per gateway, each of which is individually configurable for point-to-point or multi-point applications, providing a great deal of flexibility.
ProSoft Technology’s WA-HART Gateway functions as a wireless client, providing an ultra-fast, secure and reliable solution ideal for users who:
• Need access to flow and process variables from HART devices (such as oxygen, pH, digital I/O, analog I/O, flow or temperature gauges/meters/transmitters)
• Need an intrinsically safe network (such as oil, gas, and petrochemicals)
• Would benefit from wireless capabilities.
Features include:
• Up to 8 HART channels
• A powerful and secure over-the-air wireless protocol and a wired HART Multidrop interface port
• Simple set-up using ProSoft Configuration Builder module interface software
• Asynchronous data transfer between dissimilar protocols (using PWP wireless data exchange)
• Stand-alone, DIN-rail mounted, and aluminum-cased
• Radio Network support up to 13 channels, 2.4 GHz ISM band, Direct Sequence Spread (DSSS), proprietary PWP protocol.
All ProLinx Wireless Gateways can be used in conjunction with the RLX-500, a bi-directional Amplifier, which extends wireless distance up to 20 miles. Other ProSoft Technology RadioLinx accessories include: antennas, cables and adapters. www.prosoft-technology.com
V-Cone flow meter
With a track record for precision flow measurement solutions providing accuracy and repeatability in rugged environments, the testing of McCrometer’s V-Cone® Flow Meter now conforms to the American Petroleum Institute’s API 22.2 Testing Protocol for differential pressure flow measurement devices.
Oil/gas engineers can rely on the V-Cone Flow Meter to require virtually no recalibration or maintenance over an exceptionally long life. Engineers can save retrofit time and costs with the V-Cone’s maximum installation flexibility because it accurately measures disturbed flow and doesn’t require the upstream and downstream pipe runs of other flow meters.
Designed for the measurement of liquid, steam or gas, and ideal for tough applications, the V-Cone Flow Meter supports a wide range of oil/gas production, pipeline delivery and petroleum refining applications. The V-Cone’s highly compact, no-moving parts design keeps operating costs down for key applications such as oil production, natural gas production, raw material refining and petrochemical production.
McCrometer’s versatile V-Cone Flow Meter is compatible with the demanding standards set by the oil/gas production, delivery and refining industry. It relies on an advanced differential pressure flow technology designed with built-in flow conditioning to achieve an accuracy of +0.5%, with a repeatability of +0.1%. It operates over a flow range of 10:1, and comes in line sizes from 0.5 to 120 inches. www.mccrometer.com

Ethernet radios
Microwave Data Systems (MDS), a leader in industrial, wireless, networking solutions with applications in the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), automation, telecommunications, public safety, and online transactional markets, reports the introduction to the oil and gas industry, the newest addition to its family of Ethernet radios.
The MDS iNET-II provides speeds of greater than one megabit per second and provides excellent receiver sensitivity; this translates into significantly higher speed and longer range than traditional wireless LAN devices. This enables you to monitor and control mission-critical information and bring revenue-generating data on to the network--in real time. The MDS iNET-II can also be used to provide mobile network access and images.
The iNET-II’s industrial features enable it to perform under the harshest of environments and make it better prepared to survive in conditions where most commercial-grade radios cannot. www.microwavedata.com
Steel-disk seals
NILOS®-Ring “Type LSTO” steel-disk seals can provide superior protection for grease-lubricated bearings exposed to extreme levels of contamination. Applications for these specialized bearing seals include lubrication and fluid power equipment; construction, conveyor rollers, among others.
Type LSTO steel-disk seals satisfy key performance requirements by minimizing bearing friction losses and heat build-up and preventing lubricant leakage and penetration of dirt. The non-contact, grease-filled labyrinth sealing elements consist of laminated steel-seal disks and steel cores. The seals resist axial pressure and will not slip when clamped in the axial direction of both the inner and outer periphery of a roller-bearing ring. www.linearmotion.com
System software
GE Energy announces the release of version 6.0 of System 1® software, its leading condition monitoring, optimization and diagnostics platform. Initially released in 2000, the software now is in use by more than 2,000 sites globally and represents the world’s most widely used software of its kind for online condition monitoring of industrial machinery.
Release 6.0 combines numerous enhancements that increase the diagnostic power of the software while making it easier to order, install, use and maintain. Among the platform’s many enhancements are two for which U.S. patents are pending.
The first is support for state-based capabilities, allowing discrete machinery conditions, such as machine on/off or various load states, to be used when performing diagnostics and compiling trends. The second is a set of special analytic processes for handling stepless unloaders within the Bently Nevada™ Reciprocating Machinery Application Package. Users also will find nearly 50 other powerful enhancements in release 6.0. www.ge.com/energy
